Voodoo Carnival is a Westport, Connecticut-based CLASSIC ROCK and BLUES BAND. The band got its start when founders Kim Manning and Levi E began doing intimate acoustic shows in the summer of '05. Within a matter of months and due to growing interest in the band to play private parties and more upscale venues, the band quickly expanded to five members and has been enjoying accolades and success along Connecticutt's Gold Coast ever since.
In a very short time we've gigged from Fire Island to Nantucket and many points in between. After winning Moffly Publications' (Westport Magazine, Darien Magazine, Greenwich Magazine, New Canaan Magazine) Best of the Gold Coast BEST LOCAL ROCK BAND, the band was asked to headline at the 35th Annual Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert Series and the Inagural Westport BBQ & Blues Festival.
The band was recently invited to play at the very prestigious US Women's Squash Howe Cup Celebration Party held in Greenwich, CT. 300 of the best women's squash players and their partners danced like there was no tomorrow. One party goer commented: "You guys seriously rocked the place! I'm blown away!!!"
We do this because we love Rock and Roll. And we do it because we LOVE to see your reaction to the songs we play. Sometimes the songs sound so much like the originals, it will astound you. Other times, we put that special Voodoo Carnival spell on a familiar song in our attempt to make it our very own. Our music consists of great rock and roll and blues classics that will help you brush off some of those cobwebs and take you back to a time when all your hard earned cash went to buying albums (that's what you told Mom anyway).
